Project support
For a project to improve the health of mothers and children in the slum of Kibera, Kenya. The project aims to increase community engagement with maternal and child health services, and the capacity of the health system to support the delivery of higher quality services as well as, political commitment to providing health services in slums.

AMREF (African Medical and Research Foundation) is a leading health development organization in Africa whose mission is to bring good quality and affordable health care closer to those who need it the most, and to prevent poor health through community education as well as, the training of health workers. It was established in 1956 as the “East African Flying Doctor Service” using modern technologies to reach rural Africans who had no access to basic health care. Working closely with communities and governments, AMREF is acting to strengthen Africa’s health systems.
