American College of Surgeons

Endowment support
To name and support one International Guest Scholarship in perpetuity. International Guest Scholarships provide early to mid-career surgeons, chosen competitively from any country outside of North America, with an opportunity to visit clinical, teaching, and research facilities in North America and to attend and participate fully in the educational opportunities and activities of the annual American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress. The grant will help young qualified surgeons from Greece develop the skills necessary to become surgical leaders in their home country.

The American College of Surgeons was founded in 1913 with the purpose of providing surgeons with the knowledge and skills they need to deliver optimal patient care. The American College of Surgeons has been awarding International Guest Scholarships over the past forty years. More than two hundred surgeons from sixty-five countries and six continents have been recipients of the scholarships, and many have attained leadership roles in the profession.
