This grant supports general operating expenses. The Parents’ Association of People with Mental Disabilities (E.G.N.Y.A.) was established in 1973 as an association with the aim of preventing institutionalization and providing protection, medical care, education, skill development and eventually rehabilitation for men and women with mental disabilities who are over 18 years old and have an IQ above 30. In 1998, the E.G.N.Y.A. Care Center was established in Lagonisi, and currently serves 70 people with mental disabilities.
