- 27 May 2014 / Τhe Mobile Medical Units will visit Astypalaia
On May 29th, the Mobile Medical Units will visit the island of Astypalaia. This is the fourth visit of the Mobile Medical Units who so far have completed visits to Kastelorizo, Amorgo and Kasos. The Mobile Units will be accompanied by a scientific team consisting of the following specialties: gynecologist, a dietician, cardiologist, dentist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, pulmonologist and otolaryngologist.

On Friday, Μay 23rd at 10:07 AM the first tree of the Stavros Niarchos Park was planted. An olive tree of 3,5 meters height was planted at the Mediterranean garden of the park.

On May 26th, the grantee organization Enfance et Partage is hosting a symposium at the French Ministry of Health to address violence against children. Health and child protection professionals will be present. Recently, several tragic cases of violence on children have hit the headlines in France and abroad.

On May 14th, the second SNF Brain Insight Lecture will take place at the Mortimer B. Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute at Columbia University. The lecture’s topic is “More Years, More Life: Potentials and Challenges of Brain Aging” and the speaker is Dr. Ursula Staudinger, Director of the Columbia Aging Center, Professor of Socio-medical Sciences and Professor of Psychology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
