Lincoln Center to offer exciting schedule of free programming all summer long

Apr 20, 2022
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, a cultural mainstay in Manhattan, today announced its first annual Summer for the City, a three-month initiative that will bring thousands of artists together to offer hundreds of free indoor and outdoor events to all New Yorkers.

See what we have to look forward to this summer.

Events for all ages and interests will celebrate the joy of being together again, bring back traditions that the pandemic temporarily robbed us of, and give space for memory and healing. The city’s largest outdoor dancefloor will catch the light of an enormous 10-foot disco ball, the outside of a concert hall will become a movie screen to host a film festival, and a parking garage will be transformed into a speakeasy.

Summer for the City builds on the accomplishments of last summer’s Restart Stages initiative, which the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) supported as part of the SNF-LC Agora Initiative. SNF is lead supporter of Summer for the City Community Programming.
