Important notice: The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has not authorized any third party – organization, company, or individual – to assist in the application process by claiming or not claiming remuneration. The submission of applications by nonprofit organizations, which are evaluated by the Foundation and in accordance with the procedures described on this website, is free of charge. If any such action by any third party, claiming to act as an intermediary, comes to your attention, please notify us immediately.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) makes grants to nonprofit organizations within four program areas: arts and culture, education, health and sports, and social welfare.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is a grant-making organization only. The SNF does not solicit or accept donations from individuals, corporations or other organizations. Even though the SNF does not make grants to individuals or provide individual scholarships, individuals benefit through the numerous programs and actions of the nonprofit organizations that it supports. To find out about supporting any of the organizations the SNF supports, or to apply for assistance from programs funded by the SNF at specific organizations, please contact those organizations directly.

All applicants should submit the grant request electronically by completing the relevant form available under the Application Form category. The Foundation receives grant inquiries throughout the year. Applications are evaluated by the Programs Department and all inquiries will receive a written response. The Foundation endeavors to complete the evaluation of every grant request within three months of its submission date, unless circumstances require a longer evaluation period, agreed upon by both the SNF and the applicant.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation cannot evaluate a new grant request from the same organization, before at least one year has passed since the submission of the previous request.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greek State for a landmark long-term multifaceted health care grant initiative, “Supporting Greece’s Health Sector”. Moving forward, the SNF will focus on this complex and expansive project, and although it will continue to evaluate additional grant requests from organizations providing healthcare services in Greece, it will only be able to approve proposals in exceptional circumstances.
