SNF Conference: Humanity and Artificial Intelligence – June 22 and 23, 2020
What is AI? What does it mean to be human? Can humanity and AI coexist?
A diverse lineup of AI innovators, prognosticators, iconoclasts, leaders, critics, and artists—as well as experts in law, medicine, science, and the humanities—come together from around the world for an unconventional dialogue about AI, one that puts humanity at the center.
On the table will be critical questions around our shared humanity. What makes us human? How could AI alter what we perceive as uniquely human traits? And how might AI and humanity ultimately evolve together?
The SNF Conference takes place on June 22 and 23 at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens as part of the Summer Nostos Festival. Free and open to all, it’s a week alive with energy and optimism, overflowing with music, art, activities, film, conversation, sports, performances, and summer magic.
With the health and safety of everyone involved as our absolute priority, it is with great sadness that we announce the cancelation of the 2020 Summer Nostos Festival and SNF Conference.
This decision was a difficult one for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) to make. The SNF Conference, and the Summer Nostos Festival of which the Conference is a part of, are a highlight of the year for guests from around the world, for the city of Athens, and for all of us at SNF. Planning for the SNF Conference and the SNFestival is a year-round undertaking—one full of hard work and excitement for us and all of the partners who help bring a free celebration of summer fun and big ideas to life. While we very much hope that by June we will all be experiencing a return to normalcy, at present we must redirect the considerable resources and energy that go into these events toward the pressing needs now arising.
