The grant supports a UK touring theatre project aiming to create new age-appropriate deaf inspired sign language theatre productions called “Show of Hands” and “Oliver in the Overworld”. The productions will give young deaf and disabled audiences access to traditional and popular stories and will focus around family issues of maturity and youthful optimism. The program is conceived for both deaf and hearing audiences and gives a platform for artistic development for deaf creative artists.
The Krazy Kat Theatre Company is a charity creating theatre incorporating Sign Language Arts which is accessible for deaf and disabled children and young people and is performed and taught by an integrated company of deaf and deaf-aware practitioners.
