Corfu County Archives

For a cost study and installation of a fire protection system for the archives. The Corfu Island Archives saves, supervises, gathers, alphabetizes and files archival material related to the island of Corfu and makes the archives available to others for study. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has provided four years of support to the Archives. In 2002, the Archives completed the purchase of technological equipment for maintenance and storage of the archives. In 2004, a special study was conducted regarding the installation of a fire protection system. The archives include valuable historic and cultural heirlooms such as the plans of the Venetian Administration (1364-1807), the Public Buildings Plans of 1803, and administrative files from the Venetian Occupation, to name just a few.
