Our Lady of Hope Home of the Elderly was established by the Holy Monastery of the Sisters of Mercy of Saint Vincent of the Greek Catholic Church in 1886 in Upper Syros.  Its goal is the provision of shelter, medical care, food and hospitality to 35 elderly people, many of whom are in a bed-ridden state or find themselves in situations of extreme poverty. Priority is given to those without a family or the less financially privileged.
