Ippokrateio Hospital of Thessaloniki

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit - Renovations & Medical equipment
Part of the Pediatric Intensive Care Units’ Renovation Program.
The grant supports the complete refurbishment of the second Neonatal unit in the hospital, as well as the upgrading of medical equipment.
The General State Hospital of Thessaloniki “Hippocrateion” is the largest in Greece and Southeast Europe, providing primary, secondary, and tertiary care. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit consists of a 50-bed unit and treats 700-750 premature and critically ill newborns each year. The General Hospital includes 33 clinics and departments, 55 laboratories and 186 out-patient clinics. The existing Neonatal unit operates almost at full capacity and regional demand is very high, emphasizing the need for a second such unit.
