Center for Special Education

The grant supports the purchase of two small buses to replace the older ones. The bus service allows most of the Center’s children to travel to school. Therefore, The buses are crucial to the success of the Center’s program, but also to the safety of the children traveling in them. This service is the only way most of the children are able to travel to school.

The Center for Special Education was founded in 1982. It provides a full range of support services to persons with mental disabilities and Down syndrome within the wider area of Thessaloniki. It offers basic skills courses, including vocational training, music therapy, visual arts and physiotherapy, through the operation of seven labs/workshops, which employ and train individuals with mental disabilities. The Center also provides social services and psychological support for the children and their families.
