Population Council

Program support
To support programs for adolescent girls and maternal health in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Due to gender bias and marginalization, adolescent girls face significant disadvantages that impede health, social and economic opportunities. Improving maternal health services and increasing access to family planning saves women’s lives.
Established in 1952, the Population Council is an international, nongovernmental organization that conducts research worldwide to improve policies, programs, and products in three areas: HIV and AIDS; poverty, gender and youth; and reproductive health. The Population Council partners with local institutions that are engaged in the conceptualization, design and implementation of research and programmatic activities.
