Research project
For the two-year research project “Prevention of tinnitus persistence after acoustic trauma in adolescents and young adults: a pathophysiologically based approach”. The aim is to identify which adolescents and young adults are vulnerable to noise-induced tinnitus and will develop long-term tinnitus, and to detect individuals that are more vulnerable to developing tinnitus after noise exposure. In addition, the project will examine whether tinnitus can be prevented by the intake of antioxidants and assess the therapeutic value of neuromodulation when tinnitus arises.
