The grant includes renovations, the purchase of equipment, and the installment of network interface software that will establish a connection between all participating ICUs, allowing them to communicate and share information with one another.

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki was founded in 1995, and covers the whole of Northern Greece. The ICU is part of the Pediatric Clinic, which treats critically ill children ages 30 days -14 years old. The General State Hospital of Thessaloniki “Hippocrates” is part of the National Health System and provides primary, secondary and tertiary care. It is the largest hospital in Greece and the Southeast Europe and includes 33 clinics and departments, 55 laboratories and 186 out-patient clinics.
