Engadiner Astronomiefreunde St. Moritz

For astronomical equipment to enhance lectures and astronomical observation, guided tour services, educational initiatives at the elementary and advanced levels, and scholarly contributions to scientific astrometry.

The astronomical observatory at Randolins, based in St. Moritz, was founded in 1924. In 2005 a group of amateur astronomers renovated and restored the observatory’s instrument and dome and in July 2007 they founded the charitable organization “Engadiner Astronomiefreunde (EAF),” which now runs the observatory. EAF seeks to strengthen and support the astronomical work already accomplished at the observatory and to increase the general public’s interest in and knowledge of astronomy, particularly in students of the Engadine.
