For archaeological excavations on Keros and the islet of Dhaskalio for one season, the employment of a research associate for four years, and the partial funding for the final publication of the work in 3 volumes.
The site on Keros is a significant location both for understanding the Early Bronze Age in the Aegean and for investigating the mysteries and unanswered questions surrounding Cycladic figurines.
The McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge was established in 1990. Since then, it has received worldwide recognition for its research and publication work.
The first part of this grant, as all grants made in the Spring of 2007, is dedicated to the memory of Mary A. Dracopoulos, sister of our late founder, Stavros S. Niarchos.
