Both academies aim to promote noble emulation and provide the opportunity to young children to participate in an athletic activity. Each academy will last for approximately four days.
The Children’s Soccer Training was established in 2003 through a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. All activities of the Children’s Soccer Training program, which are organized and implemented by the renowned former soccer player M. Papaioannou, promote the rules of fair play to children coming primarily from underprivileged areas. The aim of these activities is the expansion of sports education programs, which are organized throughout Greece, so as to cultivate the spirit of noble competition in school sports. Since the initiation of the program, its activities have taken place throughout Greece, with special emphasis placed in the prefecture. Presentations have taken place in 145 schools, all of which were located in remote and isolated areas, while 18 tournaments and 8 soccer schools have been organized throughout Greece.
