The Friends of the Greek Islands and the Sea is a voluntary nonprofit organization, which was founded in 1992 by prominent representatives from the scientific and artistic fields. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of cultural decentralization, to offer cultural opportunities to children living in remote islands of Greece, and to maintain and promote values and traditions on the Greek islands.
