- 11 NOVEMBER 2014 / 2nd Annual NYC Neighborhood Library Awards Request Nominations from New Yorkers
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Charles H. Revson Foundation announced today that the second annual NYC Neighborhood Library Awards are accepting nominations from the public. The awards honor individual branches in New York City’s three library systems: the Brooklyn Public Library; Queens Library; and the New York Public Library, which operates branches in the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

- 10 NOVEMBER 2014 / Videozoom: Greece – Opening: 14 November 2014
Videozoom is an initiative "in progress" created by Sala 1 Centro Internazionale d’Arte Contemporanea in Rome, which aims to show contemporary video art in various territorial situations. The Greek edition of Videozoom entitled On Πause curated by young Athens curators Maria Dialektaki and Maria Papaioannou, will be hosted from 14 - 29 November 2014 at the Museum of Rome in Trastevere.

The European organization Eurofound has published its recent report on the “Impacts of the crisis on access to healthcare services: Country reports on Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia and Luxembourg”. The country report for Greece was developed by the Crisis Observatory.
- 07 NOVEMBER 2014 / The “Journey to the SNFCC” continues
The SNF’s Board of Directors approved a new grant regarding the expansion of the successful “Journey to the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center” (SNFCC) program to include visits around Greece. The “Journey to the SNFCC” program was originally announced in November 2013 and its main goal is to allow the general public, and especially the younger generation, to get acquainted with the philosophy of the SNFCC, through a series of interactive and open events. The program is funded exclusively by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The preparations for the upcoming operation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) include among others monthly meetings attended by SNF and SNFCC representatives, representatives of the Greek National Opera (GNO) and the National Library of Greece (NLG) as well as representatives from the relevant ministries and the Office of the Prime Minister.

A different and innovative photo exhibition opens this Friday, November 7 (at 7:00 PM), at the Visitors Center of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, “zooming in” on the daily lives of the 1,200 people working daily on the SNFCC worksite, contributing to the timely completion of the project.
- 03 NOVEMBER 2014 / Τhe SNF Supports the Depression Era Exhibition at the Benaki Museum
The exhibition “Depression Era” at the Benaki Museum opens today, supported by the SNF. The exhibition, is organized by The Depression Era collective and the not-for-profit organization KOLEKTIV8, and is the result of a three year collaboration among 36 artists, writers, architects, journalists, and researchers, depicting the urban and social landscape of the crisis.
