11 SEPTEMBER 2017 / Ceremony for the delivery of a vehicle for the transportation of people with disabilities in Karpenissi, with the SNF’s support

On Tuesday, September 12th, the Municipality of Karpenissi holds an official ceremony for the delivery of an 18-seat bus.

The procurement of the vehicle, made possible through a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), will assist with the daily transportation needs of the children, young adults and adults at the Anemone Day Center of Creative Occupation for People with Disabilities. The Municipality’s social welfare structure Anemone Day Center develops free activities for the development of independent living and social integration skills for people with disabilities.

The Municipality of Karpenissi will be fully responsible for the operation of the vehicle, which will also be used to meet the transportation needs of members of the Parents and Guardians Association of People with Disabilities, as well as of the students attending the Special Kindergarten, the Special Junior School and the Special Vocational Training Center in the Municipality of Karpenissi, thereby facilitating the children's transportation to and from extracurricular activities, doctors visits, among others.

SNF representatives will participate in the ceremony commemorating the delivery of the vehicle.
