17 MAY 2017 / Update on the Progress of the SNF’s Radiotherapy Program

The first four new linear accelerators (linacs), funded exclusively by the SNF, have been installed at the University General Hospital of Heraklion, the Theageneio Anticancer Hospital of Thessaloniki, the University General Hospital of Patra and more recently at the General Hospital of Larissa, as part of the SNF’s Radiotherapy Program.

The new linacs will begin clinical operation in approximately two months, providing key radiotherapy treatment for cancer patients in the surrounding areas.

Supported exclusively by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Radiotherapy Program supports the replacement of 10 obsolete linear accelerators in seven public hospitals in Greece. The new, state-of-the-art equipment will significantly improve the treatment of cancer patients throughout the country. To read more about the program, click here.
