17 MAY 2017 / 17th Annual Stavros Niarchos Foundation Lecture of the Peterson Institute for International Economics

On Tuesday, May 16, the Peterson Institute for International Economics hosted the 17th Annual Stavros Niarchos Foundation Lecture at their headquarters in Washington, DC.

The lecture was presented by Lord Mervyn King, former governor of the Bank of England, discussing “World Trade and Exchange Rates: From the Pax Americana to a Multilateral New Order”. Lord King was introduced by the Honorable Lawrence H. Summers, a member of the Peterson Institute’s Board of Directors, and its Executive Committee. According to the Peterson Institute, Lord King “…a visionary leader at the helm of the Bank of England during the height of the global financial crisis, shared his insight on the challenges to the sustainability of the current system of multilateral cooperation and international order.”
