10 MARCH 2017 / SNF Open Events at the SNFCC, June 18-25

Continuing the efforts that began a few years back, in what has become by now a tradition, the SNF will present at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) a full week of open events (18-25 June), free and accessible to all, offering visitors a multifaceted program which transforms the public space into a platform of exploration, experimentation, and expression through the offerings of culture, education and sports.

The cultural program will incorporate among others concerts, art installations and performances, as well as educational and athletic events for children and families. The events will also include an exhibition by the Renzo Piano Building Workshop which will be on display throughout that week at the SNFCC. The exhibition will consist of 18 tables telling the story of different projects through models, drawings, photos and videos.

On Friday June 23rd the 3rd SNF Run, an evening race starting at the Panathenaic Stadium, the hosting ground of the first modern Olympic Games, and ending at the SNFCC, will take place. This year there will be a 6k and 10k route as well as a 1K Special Olympics race which will be organized concurrently.

Detailed information concerning the cultural program of events and registration for the SNF Run will be made available in the coming weeks.

The 6th SNF Conference on Philanthropy will also take place at the SNFCC, from June 21st to June 23rd, 2017. This year’s Conference will explore the theme of Creativity, Imagination and the Importance of Reactivating Public and Ethical Spaces in a Highly Polarized Society.
