4.1 Miles Screening at the United Nations

On Wednesday, March 1, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, co-supported a screening of the Academy Award Nominated Short Subject Documentary, 4.1 Miles, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

Other supporters were the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations and The New York Times Opinion Section. Well over 600 people attended the screening and subsequent discussion with Director Daphne Matziaraki and Greek Coast Guard Caption Kyriakos Papadopoulos, facilitated by Bryan Doerries, Artistic Director of Theater of War Productions. Attendees included delegates to the United Nations from various countries, journalists, and friends of the SNF, among others.

Before the screening, remarks were given by Her Excellency Catherine Boura, Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations; Andreas Dracopoulos, Co-President of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation; Kathleen Lingo, Executive Producer of The New York Times Op-Docs; and His Excellency Joao Vale de Almeida, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations.
