Vasili Tsamis has over 35 years of global finance experience in banking and investments, corporate lending, capital markets and project finance activities. Since 2008, Vasili has been with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation as Chief Operating Officer. Before that, Vasili held various senior positions with Citigroup, both in the United States and Switzerland, and with Julius Baer and Credit Lyonnais in New York. Before embarking on his banking career, Vasili was a research assistant in the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in New York and Geneva, and worked as a staff reporter for the Greek Press and Information Service in New York. Vasili completed his basic education in his native Greece. He holds a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from Fordham University in New York, and an Advanced Degree in Banking from the American Institute of Banking in New York. For nearly twenty years, he was a licensed General Securities Representative and Securities Agent under New York State Law, and an Investment Adviser and General Securities Supervisory Principal, certified by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. He speaks Greek, English and French.
